POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE IN VISUAL NEUROSCIENCE
The Ocular Development Group in the Department of Optometry and Vision
Sciences is actively seeking a Research Associate to work with Dr
Jonathan Erichsen in a multidisciplinary investigation of the anatomical
pathways that control focusing of the lens. The research will examine the
role of accommodation in the development of myopia.
You will join a well funded and active neuroscience research group that
is located in state-of-the-art laboratories at the Department of
Optometry and Vision Sciences. You should have a PhD in a relevant
subject. Experience in immunohistochemistry, pathway tracing and/or
microstimulation techniques would be advantageous.
The post is fixed-term for three years and is funded by the National
Lottery Charities Board. Salary range: 16,128 - 18,732 pounds sterling.
The expected start date is 1 October 1999.
