RESEARCH ASSOCIATE POSITIONS AVAILABLE
We are looking for scientists with excellent programming
skills and experience, to fill positions beginning in the
October 1999 - December 1999 timeframe.
--Project: The research, to be funded by the National Eye
Institute, is focused on the development of a flexible
psychophysical and physiological testing platform for the
vision science research community. The platform will
cover research designs found under the umbrella of visual
cognition, visual psychophysics, visual or cognitive
neuroscience (including single cell, recording, multiunit
recording, evoked response potentials and fMRI). The
platform will incorporate object-oriented techniques to
simplify and expedite the design of experiments and retain
flexibility through multiple levels of end user access.
--Location and Facilities: Our office and laboratory space is
located in Stiles Hall just across the street from the
University of California at Berkeley. We interact closely
with members of the Vision Science program at UCB.
Modern computer systems are available for this project and
we will be acquiring a large WEB server and additional
desktop systems for this project in the near future.
Materials for physiological recordings and video system
calibration will also be available.
--Qualifications and application: The ideal candidate
would have a broad general background in Vision science,
extensive programming experience (especially in
C++) and competence in interactive WEB technology
development (database, JAVA, HTML, PERL, CGI ...).
Few researchers are likely to possess all these skills.
Candidates should have expertise in one or more area
such as: C++ programming or WEB (Database and
JAVA) technologies.
