Programmer, Retinal Neuroscience.
Half-time programmer position open at Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research
Institute (SF, CA). The project is directed towards development of
comprehensive models of rod and cone phototransduction. Topics include
photocurrent activation, inactivation, and feedback gain control
(light-adaptation), as well as analysis of putative loci for disease
mechanisms. Candidates must be well-versed in Matlab/Simulink.
Familiarity with any or all of the following (in descending order of
priority) will be considered valuable assets to the project: ordinary
differential eqs (& o.d.e. solvers), optimization techniques, data
analysis and noise filtering, linear systems (incl. freq-domain
analysis), single-cell electrophysiological data, biochemistry. Salary:
$30/hour on a contract basis.
