Five Post-Doctoral Positions in Visual-Motor Neuroscience.=20
The Canadian MRC Group for Action and Perception (GAP) has
immediate openings for 5 national or international post-doctoral
fellows. GAP is a federally funded research group consisting of 7
internationally recognized principle investigators and their
laboratories. GAP facilities are located within several institutions in
Southwestern Ontario, with headquarters for postdoctoral training in
Toronto and London Ontario. We are currently undertaking a
collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach to explain the neural
mechanisms for visual-motor transformations and object perception, with
the use of state-of-the-art techniques. These include: functional MRI,
visual psychophysics, and 3-D motion analysis in normal subjects and
patients, computational modelling, and single unit recordings in
behaving primates. Candidates may choose to be trained in any of these
areas, but are encouraged to select projects that combine several such
approaches to answer fundamental questions in systems, behavioural,
cognitive, and computational neuroscience. Candidates who have a PhD
(or equivalent) in a relevant neuroscience-related field and have shown
a promising research record will be funded at levels competitive with
North American scholarship programs and grant agency guidelines. For
further information on group membership, aims, and individual research
projects, see our Web-site at

Candidates may contact individual group members for information about
specific research projects via the Internet, but formal letters of
application, CV, and references should be sent to: Dr. M.A.Goodale,
Department of Psychology, University of Western Ontario, London,
Ontario, Canada, N6A-5C2.
