</bold>Applications are invited for the position of Lecturer/Senior
Lecturer in the Department of Physiology, within the Otago School of
Medical Sciences. The position is open to scientists, including those
with medical qualifications.
The Department is the largest physiology department in New Zealand and
teaches physiology to both undergraduate and postgraduate students in
the Health Sciences (Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Physiotherapy)
and the Sciences (including Physical Education).
The present research interests of the Department are in the fields of
cardiovascular physiology, cellular and epithelial physiology,
developmental biology, exercise and sports physiology, neurophysiology,
muscle physiology, renal physiology and respiratory physiology.
However, applications from scientists whose research interests are
within the broad area of physiological sciences (including molecular
and cellular aspects) will be welcome.
The salary range for a Lecturer (non-medical) is $45,000 to $55,500 per
annum and for a Lecturer (medically qualified) is $47,250 to $55,250
per annum. The salary range for a Senior Lecturer (non-medical) is
$58,500 to $68,500 and for a Senior Lecturer (medically qualified) is
$74,500 to 94,500. Appointment will be made at an appropriate step in
these ranges depending on qualifications and experience.
