Head of the School of Psychology
Applications are invited from suitably qualified people for appointment as Head
of School in the Universityís rapidly developing School of Psychology.
This School, which currently has a total permanent staff complement of 26.5, is
expected to continue to grow significantly over the next several years, with
the appointment of more than five additional academic and support staff. Under
a business plan approved by the University, a significant increase in research,
teaching and office accommodation is anticipated.
It is expected that the position of Head of School will be filled at the
Reader/Associate Professor or full Professor level. The initial appointment
will be for a period of three years, during which the appointee will have the
opportunity to continue research at 0.2 FTE level. Thereafter, the appointee
will be expected to take up a programme of teaching and research within the
School.
The successful applicant will have a PhD, an extensive and distinguished record
of teaching, research and publication in any one or more of the major areas of
Psychology, and will possess significant interpersonal and management skills.
