Applied Visual Research Position
Raytheon Technical Services Company has an immediate opening for a visual
scientist. Work will be performed at the Air Force Research Laboratory,
Mesa, AZ, which is located on the Arizona State University East Campus.
The lab conducts research related to flight simulation and training. Current
projects are concerned with perception of velocity and time-to-contact;
recognition of aspect angle; and perceptual effects of temporal sampling,
display scan architecture, and pixel temporal properties. In addition, we
are evaluating several new, super-high-resolution-display technologies.
This position requires an M.S. or a Ph.D. in experimental psychology or
related field, with a strong background in visual perception and
psychophysics. Preference will be given to applicants who also have
expertise in digital image processing, computer graphics, electro-optical
displays, mathematics, and/or statistics.
(U.S. citizenship is required. The selected applicant will be subject to a
security investigation and drug testing and must meet eligibility
requirements for access to classified information and for work on federal
programs.)
