Subject: Postdoctoral Position

Organization: Harvard Medical School

A postdoctoral position is open in a laboratory focused on the
microcircuitry of the retina. Our approaches have their roots in cell
biology: we use techniques of cellular and molecular neurobiology to
create markers that define cell populations for further study. One
branch of our work uses such technologies for anatomical studies. A
second is focused on the role of individual elements within the retinaís
circuitry in creating the final responses of the ganglion cells. For
this, we often use visually-guided extracellular or intracellular
recording, a collection of methods first developed in this lab. We are
particularly interested in the mechanism of direction selectivity in
retinal ganglion cells. We think this problem is near its solution; join
us and see it to the end.

For more about our lab see our website at
http://www.retina.mgh.harvard.edu.

Our laboratory is supported by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, an
equal opportunity employer.
