The College of Liberal Arts at RIT provides a core education in the
humanities and social sciences for 11,500 matriculated undergraduates.
It supports BS programs in Criminal Justice, Economics, Professional and
Technical Communications, Psychology, and SOcial WOrk, and an MS degree
program in School Psychology. Currently, the College is strengthening the
education it offers all RIT students and is developing new degree programs.

** Responsibilities **

The responsibilities of the Associate Dean for Social and Behavioral
Sciences will include the following:

- Provide support to department and program chairs in the social and
behavioral sciences to facilitate the efficient functioning of their
programs.
- Advise students on academic and personal matters.
- Support faculty in the social and behavioral sciences in their academic
duties, and provide assistance for research activities including grant
preparation.
- Coordinate program support activities.
- Assist with long-range planning for the College.
- Coordinate the work of college committees.
- Conduct special projects.
- Teach one course a year.
- Undertake other duties as designated by the Dean.

The Associate Dean will report to the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts.

** Qualifications **

- Ph.D. in the social and behavioral sciences.
- A minimum of five years service at the assistant/associate professor level.
- A record of teaching, research, publication, and grant writing.
- Some experience of administration desirable.
