The Utrecht Neuroethology group of the Helmholtz Institute in The
    Netherlands invites applicants for a

    Ph.D.-position (Neurophysiology)

Project title: Task dependency of motion detection in non-human primates

The Utrecht Neuroethology Group studies spatial behavior and its
neuronal mechanisms in vertebrates, with emphasis on the sensory
neural analysis and internal neural representation of spatial
relations. The present study will analyse the neural basis of motion
perception and the influence of higher cognitive functions. Single
unit neural activity will be recorded in areas MT and MST of the
macaque, while measuring behavior using psychophysical techniques.

For this Ph. D.-position (4 years) we are looking for a candidate
with an M.Sc. or equivalent in Neuroscience, and experience with
psychophysical and electrophysiological techniques. The salary is, on
a monthly basis, first year Euro 1077 up to Euro 1832 in the 4th
year. The monthly salary is supplemented by a so-called
labor-allowance of Euro 318, in the first, Euro 227 in the second and
Euro136 in the third year (gross).
