The Rutgers Center for Cognitive Science (in New brunswick, NJ) announces
the availability of several post-doctoral fellowships in Vision Research or
Language Studies. These awards, funded through the NIMH National Research
Service Award program, can begin in the spring or fall of 2000, intially
for a term of one year and may be renewed. Deadline for applications is
Febbruary 1, 2000.
The vision research aspect of the Fellowship program, administered by the
Center for Cognitive Science, includes a large number of active vision
laboratories at Rutgers, New Brunswick and involves members of the
departments of psychology, computer science, biomedical engineering, the
School of Library and Information Science, the Laboratory of Vision
research, the Human Computer Interaction Group, the Digital Libraries
Group, and CAIP (a New Jersey Technology Center). The "Human and Machine
Vision" group sponsors a regular series of talks and seminars by visiting
researchers. New Brunswick, NJ is close to New York City and the
geographical area includes a large concentration of academic and industrial
research laboratories carrying out research on vision, with which we have
had collaborative relations.
The personnel and facilities for vision and vision-related research
including visual cognition and visual attention) at Rutgers are world class
and an interdeciplinary approach is actively encouraged.
