POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN THREE-DIMENSIONAL EYE
MOVEMENTS
YORK UNIVERSITY CENTRE FOR VISION RESEARCH TORONTO,

Laurence Harris is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to participate in a
programme of research into how visual and vestibular information is
combined to produce a unitary response. The candidate should have a
research background in the area of eye movement or vestibular
research. A working knowledge of the relevant literature, elementary
linear algebra, computer skills (eg. programming in C, Pascal and/or
Matlab) and working with alert animals would be considerable
advantages.
The project is funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering
Research Council, and by the Ontario Centre for Research in Earth and
Space Technology. The salary for this position is competitive and the
starting date is flexible. Applications will be accepted until the
position is filled. International applications are encouraged.
The York Centre for Vision Research is a large, interdisciplinary centre
spanning the laboratories of 19 faculty members in the Departments of
Psychology, Computer Science, Biology and Philosophy. Members
pursue fundamental and applied research in visual, vestibular and
auditory perception, eye-movements, computer vision, virtual reality
and robotics. The Centre is very well equipped with advanced
graphics engines, eye- and head-tracking devices, stereo projection
systems and head-mounted displays.
