The Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology (http://web-it.bcs.edu) has funds from an NIH
Training Grant in "Visual Cognition" to hire up to two postdoctoral
fellows,
beginning July 1, 2000 for one year, possibly renewable for an
additional
year. The fellows would do research in mid-level vision and/or visual
cognition, including surface perception, visual attention, the
recognition
of objects, faces, or words, visual imagery, and their developmental
and
neural bases. Supervisors can include any member of the Brain and
Cognitive
Sciences faculty, including Professors Ted Adelson, Bart Anderson,
Nancy
Kanwisher, Earl Miller, Steven Pinker, Tomaso Poggio, Molly Potter,
Pawan
Sinha, Elizabeth Spelke, and Anthony Wagner. Please send applications,
