The Systems Neurobiology Laboratory (Krauzlis) at the Salk Institute
is seeking two post-doctoral candidates skilled in awake primate physiology
and/or behavioral studies of eye movements, visual attention and perception.
Current projects include electrophysiological studies of the subcortical
pathways that coordinate pursuit and saccadic eye movements, and behavioral
studies of the relationship between attention and eye movements.
The ideal candidate will have prior research experience in one or more
of the following areas: working with alert and behaving monkeys,
stereotaxic surgery in the brain, electrophysiological recording and
microstimulation, psychophysical and/or oculomotor experiments, programming
experience with Matlab or C on Linux or Unix platforms.
Good interpersonal, technical, and organizational skills are expected,
as well as a significant publication record.
Salary will be commensurate with level of experience ($28,000 - 35,000)
Target starting date is September 2000.
