Associate/Senior Image Processing Engineer (Job Code: VSS-060052)

Develop processing algorithms for the exploitation of still and video
imagery for military, law enforcement, and civilian applications.
Utilize development tools such as MATLAB or IDL to integrate and test
the feasibility of processing methods using UNIX and PC network-based
environments. Tasks: Develop methods to transform imagery into
non-literal, derived products for special-purpose applications or
compression for rapid dissemination over limited bandwidth. Develop
techniques and algorithms to extract information such as objects and
features from pixel-based imagery. Formulate methods to correlate
multiple sources of imagery and other graphical products such as maps
and terrain data. Use MATLAB or IDL to integrate algorithms and
processing tools to facilitate laboratory-based research in processing
methods using both PC and UNIX-based environments. Requires BS in
electrical engineering, mathematics, or computer science or equivalent
with 0-5 years experience. Academic background in image processing,
transform operations, image compression and information extraction.
Familiarity with standard commercial image/video standards such as JPEG,
MPEG, and other commercial formats. Demonstrated ability to work in a
team environment with minimal supervision. Good oral and written
communication skills with demonstrated ability to document, publish, and
present results. Candidate must be a US Citizen and eligible to obtain
Secret-level DOD clearance. Ability to travel independently and to work
on board military vehicles (e.g., ships, submarines, planes). Desired:
Knowledge and experience with image processing tools, user interface
development tools, UNIX system administration, NT applications
    development, and client/server architecture.

Associate/Senior Information Exploitation Engineer (Job Code:
    VSS-060053)

Candidate must have experience in transforming algorithms and rules to
JAVA-based software to assist with development of intelligent software,
data mining and visualization tools in PC and UNIX-based applications.
Conduct software development and test using appropriate software
engineering methods. Support implementation of R&D tools in distributed
network (wired/wireless) architecture. Tasks: Code advanced
intelligence data processing algorithms in JAVA to support tactical
military and law enforcement operations. Develop JAVA-based user
interface tools and advanced 2D and 3D graphical visualization tools
using COTS and in-house developed techniques. Modify/investigate
existing legacy C4ISR system code to support integration of new
techniques to support data processing and visualization. Provide system
administration support for UNIX-based systems. Requires BS in
electrical engineering or computer science or equivalent with a minimum
of 5 years experience. Extensive academic background in software
engineering, programming in JAVA, C, C++, prototype software
development, user interface, UNIX and PC systems. Demonstrated ability
to work in a team environment with minimal supervision. Good oral and
written communication skills with ability to document, publish, and
present results. Willingness and demonstrated ability to work on
dynamic set of problems simultaneously. Must be willing to support
field operations at U.S. military installations and Navy ships.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and eligible to obtain Secret-level DOD
clearance. Ability to travel independently and to work on board
military vehicles (e.g., ships, submarines, planes). Desired:
Knowledge and experience with graphics display software, user interface
development tools, UNIX system administration, NT applications
    development, and client/server architecture.
