Graduate Assistantship in Visual Motion Perception: Fall 2000.
The Department of Psychology at Wright State University in Dayton,
Ohio, has an opening for a PhD-level graduate student to study visual
perception, for Fall 2000. The assistantship is funded through an NSF
grant awarded to Dr. Scott Watamaniuk to study and model human motion
perception. Tuition is completely paid and the student will receive a
monthly stipend (including the summer months) at the current Wright
State University rate. The student will be a full-time researcher,
working in the lab under the direction of Dr. Watamaniuk. Although the
topic of study is human visual perception, the successful student will
receive a Psychology degree in Human Factors.
The human factors graduate program at Wright State University is a
unique environment in which students learn about basic human
perceptual/sensory processes and how to apply that knowledge to
practical problems. All Human Factors students also receive a minor in
Industrial/Organizational Psychology to give them critical background in
how organizations operate and the environment in which human factors
solutions are implemented. Our graduate program emphasizes basic
experimentation in human perceptual and cognitive abilities, and has a
100% employment record for students completing Master’s or Ph.D. degrees.
