The "Dynamic Brain" Meeting celebrates interdisciplinary research and
education as well as the Brain Science Program at Brown University, which
was launched in October 1999. Twenty-four of the world's leading
researchers will present the latest findings
in brain development and function. The meeting will bring together
experimentalists and theoreticians to discuss how we can accelerate our
understanding of the brain through interdisciplinary studies that blend
    mathematics, biology, computation, and cognitive
and behavioral sciences; this collaboration across disciplines is the model
for the Brain Science Program at Brown. In particular, there will be an
emphasis on the interaction of theory and experiment that has greatly
enriched both endeavors. This interaction has enabled scientists to pose
new questions with precision and clarity. Each of the four sessions will
span levels of study and will include group discussion of challenges and
interdisciplinary approaches to understanding brain function. We invite
you to join us for this landmark event.
