FULL-TIME RESEARCH/TECHNICAL ASSISTANT POSITION
THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO, DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY
Applications are invited for a full-time research/technical assistant for
work in visual perception. Starting date is September 1st 2000, but it is
possible to begin earlier.
Research in the laboratory focuses on the relationship between attention,
eye movements and visual short-term memory. The primary responsibility
will be to prepare, program, and run experiments using human subjects, and
analyze the data. Programming skills (Macintosh systems, C language) are
essential, and some knowledge of electronics is a plus. There is no
specifically required background, but having taken courses in math and
natural sciences (especially neuroscience) is beneficial.
This job is an excellent opportunity to learn about all aspects of
research, and can be useful as a preparation for graduate school or
professional training in related areas. The position is for at least one
year, preferably two. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
