    UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL

    DIVISION OF ORTHOPTICS/DEPARTMENT OF MEDICINE

Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Human Oculomotor Control
A two-year postdoctoral research fellowship, funded by the Wellcome =
Trust, is available to investigate non-visual factors which influence =
the initiation of smooth ocular pursuit. Experiments, which will be =
carried out in the oculomotor lab of Dr Paul Knox, will involve =
behavioural testing of normal human subjects using the Cambridge =
Research Systems VSG to deliver pursuit stimuli and infrared oculography =
to record eye movements. There may also be the opportunity to =
participate in fMRI and transcranial magnetic stimulation studies.

Applicants should have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in vision science, =
oculomotor control or appropriate areas of systems neuroscience or =
psychology. Some experience with the equipment involved (VSG, Skalar =
Iris, CED1401) and computer programming (preferably Pascal/Delphi) would =
    be an advantage

Salary will be at an appropriate point on the 1A scale in the range of =
    =A316286-=A318915 plus Wellcome salary enhancement.

Further details are available on the web: =
    http://www.liv.ac.uk/~pcknox/pck/spog/home.htm and informal inquiries =
    are welcome by email (pcknox@liv.ac.uk) or phone (0151 794 5736 or =
    5731).
