The National Eye Institute, Division of Intramural Research, Ophthalmic
Genetics and Clinical Services Branch (OGCSB) has opened a tenured position
for a research scientist (Ph.D. or M.D.) in the Eye Services Section.
Preference will be given to applicants with extensive training and
experience in psychophysical techniques, and in the application of
non-invasive test procedures to the study of chorioretinal degenerations and
related ocular disorders. The successful candidate will be expected to
develop an independent research program with emphasis on the diagnosis of
retinal degenerative and vascular diseases, and the evaluation of
therapeutic measures in the management of these conditions. The OGCSB
encourages strong interaction between clinical and laboratory scientists in
the design and development of innovative approaches for the detection,
classification, and therapy of ocular diseases, and in carrying out
controlled clinical research protocols.
