3 Ph.D students, 2 Postdocs and 1 Technical Specialist are
sought to work within the NWO (Dutch Science Foundation) Pioneer Research
    Program: "Spatial Cognition: Development, Underlying
Representations, and Neural Basis" at the Psychonomic
Laboratory, Helmholtz Research Institute, Utrecht University, The
    Netherlands.

<underline>The Pioneer program:</underline> It is vitally important that
we can perceive and remember where things in our envirionment are. It
enables us to perform goal direction actions (e.g. grasping an object) or
to learn the route between two locations (e.g. route learning). This
innovative, ambitious research program focuses on mental spatial
representations in humans, their development with age, and the role of
the various sensory input channels. A particular goal is the mapping of
the underlying neurocognitive basis. Ultimately, a more conclusive
overview of human spatial cognition should be reached.

The sub-projects will be conducted in close cooperation in order to
examine several critical aspects of spatial functioning using multiple
experimental and neurocognitve tools. Our aim is to build a research team
whose strong collaboration will benefit both the individual researchers
and the research in general. The program involves the active
participation of many international experts. Although the research is
mainly fundamental, clinical value of the results for special subject
populations (the blind, neurological patients) can be expected as well.
Good salaries, excellent research environment and facilties in centre of
    the Netherlands.

    3 Ph.D. students, 2 PostDocs, and 1 technician

Innovative research on the neurocognitive basis of space. Excellent
facilities and strong research group, examining multiple spatial
functions in the human brain in different subject groups ( neurological
patients, blind, children). Modern experimental and neurocognitive tools
are used (fMRI, ERP, TMS). Technician creates soft- and hardware for
experimental psychological tasks (visual, auditory or tactile stimuli)
and supports analysis of behavioral and physiological data (eyemovements,
    ERPs). Good salary.
