    FULL-TIME RESEARCH ASSISTANT POSITION

    DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY, PRINCETON UNIVERSITY

Applications are invited for a full-time research assistant to work on
visual perception and attention. Starting date is September 1, 2000.

Research in my laboratory is focused on mechanisms of visual perception
and its modulation by cognitive processes, such as attention and
memory, in the human cortex. These topics are studied by combining
functional brain imaging, behavioral measurements and
electrophysiolological techniques, such as transcranial magnetic
stimulation. The Research assistant will be involved in the on-going
research and will have the opportunity to learn multiple techniques to
study the human brain. Responsibilities will include help with
programming experimental designs, assist in performing experiments, and
data analysis, scheduling subjects. Programming skills (basic C, Unix,
    Matlab) are a plus.

The position offers an excellent opportunity to learn about research
techniques in the field of cognitive neuroscience with an emphasis on
perception and attention. The position may be a useful preparation for
graduate school or professional training in related areas. The position
is for 1-2 years. B.A./B.S. required. Salary and rank commensurate
    with experience.

Please send a resume and three letters of recommendation to Dr. Sabine
    Kastner (e-mail:

sabine@ln.nimh.nih.gov), c/o Bernie VanUiter, Dept. of Psychology,
Princeton University, Green Hall, Princeton, NJ 08544. For more
information, please contact me directly at the above e-mail address or
