DEPARTMENT OF ANATOMY AND STRUCTURAL BIOLOGY
Two lectureships will be available in the Department of Anatomy and
Structural Biology from February 2001. These are confirmable
positions, although either may be held as a limited term position (up
to 5 years) by mutual agreement.
The Department is particularly interested in making appointments in
neuroscience and cell biology, although those with other research
strengths will also be considered as long as they can contribute to
teaching in one or other of these areas. Applicants will be expected
to hold a PhD or equivalent qualification, have proven research
ability, and have the potential to develop an on-going and active
research program.
The Department's areas of research excellence are: neuroscience, cell
biology, reproductive biology, developmental biology, functional
anatomy and biological anthropology. The appointees will be required
to teach at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, to at
least one of the following groups of students: medical, dental,
physiotherapy, medical laboratory science, pharmacy, physical
education and science students.
The salary range for a Lecturer (Non-Medical/Dental) is $45,000 to
$55,500 per annum (pro rata) and for a Lecturer (Medical/Dental) is
$47,250 to $59,250 per annum (pro rata). Appointment will be made at
an appropriate step in these ranges depending on qualifications and
experience.
