Three New Resources for Visual Cognition

    1) I have started a new web site (VisCog.net) that includes links to
anything related to visual cognition (researchers, databases,
publishers, demos, experiments, etc). You can suggest additional
links for the site using the web-based forms available there. I hope
that many of you will send me links to other relevant sites so that
the page can become more inclusive. I have taken the liberty of
adding a number of listings for researchers to the page already, but
I certainly didn't add everyone. If you would like to be added to
the site (or deleted) or would like your listing modified, please use
the form on the site. I hope you will find the site useful. The
    address is: http://www.viscog.net.

    2) The change detection database is fully functional and includes
information about 50 researchers studying change detection (with
links to their home pages as well as publications, conferences, and
other change detection information. If you would like to be added to
the database or to update your existing page, please send email to
dsimons@wjh.harvard.edu. The address for the site is:
    http://www.wjh.harvard.edu/~viscog/change/

    3) A little self (and field) promotion: The special issue of Visual
Cognition on "Change Blindness and Visual Memory" is now available in
book form from Psychology Press. The list price is $94 dollars, but
for a limited time, Psychology Press has agreed to offer a 25%
discount through their web site (special price: $70). The volume
seeks to unite recent studies of change blindness with studies of
visual integration in order to better understand the nature of our
representations and the richness of our visual memory. It includes
21 peer-reviewed articles covering the range of current research and
theory on change detection. For more details about this book and
ordering information, visit the following page at Psychology Press:
    http://www.psypress.com/BKFILES/0863776124.htm. To receive your
discount, please quote the reference number SIM799 when you place
your order. The special discount expires 10/31/00.
