    Applications are now being accepted for a post-doctoral
    position to be filled after September 1st, 2000. This arises
    from a recently awarded research grant from a major US
    computer manufacturer for collaborative work relating to
    the development of a computational framework for image
    sharpness management. Candidates should have a PhD
    in a relevant discipline, ideally with knowledge of human
    vision and spatial contrast sensitivity, image processing
    and device MTF characterisation.

    The Colour & Imaging Institute is Europe's leading research
    centre for colour science and image engineering. The staff
    have strong expertise in vision science, colour measurement,
    colour modelling, image processing, image quality assessment
    and psychophysics. Research facilities include a suite of
    laboratories and experimental rooms, with a wide range of
    colour measuring instruments and colour imaging devices.

    The appointment will be two years in length. Salary will be
    on the standard UK RA1 scale, in the range £17K - £20K
    pounds, based on years of experience. Applications from
