Subject: Three Post-Doc Positions at McMaster University
Three Post-Doctoral Positions at McMaster University
Applications are now being accepted from postdoctoral candidates
interested in studying functional organization and developmental/adult
plasticity of Sensory Cortex.
One Post-Doctoral position is for studies that will use the technique of
Optical Imaging to investigate the functional organization of the
visual cortex. A background in neurophysiology and/or Optical Imaging
is necessary. Familiarity with computational approaches and Matlab
programming is a benefit.
Contact: Dr Kathryn Murphy kmurphy@vision.mcmaster.ca
The second Post-Doctoral position is for studies of NMDA receptor
involvement in developmental plasticity of the visual cortex. A
background in immunohistochemistry is necessary.
Contact: Dr Kathryn Murphy kmurphy@vision.mcmaster.ca
The third Post-Doctoral position is for studies of cortical reorganization
in adults induced by training procedures and remodeling associated with
perceptual abilities such as those found in highly trained musicians.
These studies will involve brain imaging with EEG, MEG, and/or fMRI
to measure sensory maps in visual, auditory and somatosensory cortices.
Familiarity with signal processing, Matlab, and Linux are strong
assets, as is background in electrophysiology and/or sensory
information processing.
Contact: Dr Larry Roberts roberts@mcmaster.ca
Please send a statement of research interests, cv, and the names of
two references.
The research group includes Drs. David Jones, Kathryn Murphy,
Ronald Racine, Larry Roberts, and Laurel Trainor. We have state-of-the-art
facilities for experimental and computational approaches to studying
cortical plasticity and a strong interdisciplinary research setting.
Starting salary ($30,000 - $35,000, range) will be commensurate with
experience.
