We are seeking a Visual Neuroscientist with expertise in one or both of the
following: electrophysiology of visual systems, with emphasis on early
visual processing in arthropods or vertebrates; computational modelling of
visual processing, including motion and optic flow processing. We are
particularly seeking to attract somebody with an interest in natural
operating conditions for visual systems, and in the comparative aspects of
neurobiology.
You will be working in the Visual Sciences Group at the Research School of
Biological Sciences, and interacting with programs on Insect Navigation
(Srinivasan, Zhang, Zeil), Neuroethological Robotics (Srinivasan, Chahl),
Adaptive Nonlinear Vision (Maddess), Vertebrate Retina (Morgan), Arthropod
Visual Ecology (Hemmi, Zeil), and Molecules to Behaviour (Maleszka). The
Group is the largest component of the Centre for Visual Sciences (CVS) at
the Australian National University. The CVS provides a network linking
research into the neurobiology of vision, psychophysics, and robotics.
