Available immediately: The Neuroimaging Laboratory is seeking a full-time
RESEARCH ASSISTANT to assist in functional MR studies of visual perception
in adults and children with visual disorders, and normal vision. The
position offers a multifaceted research experience in a congenial
environment with the potential for significant independent responsibility.
The position provides excellent preparation for graduate school or related
professions. Experiments will utilize a high performance 3T MR scanner,
and advanced analysis techniques. The salary and benefits are competitive.
Duties would include: subject recruitment and database management; helping
to design, implement and run experiments, both behavioral alone and with
fMRI; analyzing data; collaboration with data presentation and publication;
cooperation with undergrad. & graduate students; attending lab meetings.
Qualifications include: People/communication skills, self-motivation, and
curiosity!
B.S. or B.A. in a quantitative or neuroscience-related discipline.
The more experience with Macs, UNIX, and Matlab the better.
Previous (cognitive/neuro/vision) research experience or knowledge of
statistics is also desirable.
Available January 2001 (negotiable): The Neuroimaging Laboratory is seeking
a POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW to pursue functional MR studies of visual perception
in adults and children with visual disorders, and normal vision. One
fully-funded project will develop and evaluate treatment strategies for
children and adults with amblyopia, using fMRI. Another project will study
object representations in normal visual cortex. There is also the
potential for independent agendas that take advantage of our high-field MR,
PET, and burgeoning neuroscience/neuroimaging community. The minimum time
commitment is 1-2 years. The salary and benefits are competitive.
A fellow would be expected to design and implement experiments, publish
results, and work as part of a team. Applicants should have a Ph.D., or
M.D., in a relevant field, and be excited to take advantage of a new center
with congenial collaborators and excellent institutional support.
