A position is available immediately for a project investigating the role of
nitric oxide in synaptic transmission in the visual system. Successful
applicants will be exposed to numerous techniques, including brain slice
physiology, infrared microscopy, single and multielectrode recordings,
computational modeling, and local chemical activation/inactivation of
visual pathways, including a unique method of delivering neuroactive
substances through photolysis of caged compounds. Experience or interest
in whole cell recording or in vivo electrochemistry is encouraged for this
