The Arlene R. Gordon Research Institute of Lighthouse International, the
world's leading resource on vision impairment, seeks qualified applicants
for a 3-year funded position of Postdoctoral Fellow. The position,
available immediately, entails the design and conduct of a variety of
experiments concerned with wayfinding under conditions of low or no
vision.
The Institute, which conducts psychophysical and psychosocial studies
of vision and vision impairment, occupies spacious and well-equipped
facilities in midtown Manhattan.
The qualified candidate should have a doctoral degree in a relevant
discipline (such as experimental psychology) excellent computer skills
familiarity with UNIX, Windows 95/98, and C, and expertise in applied
vision research. Experience with cartography, spatial memory and
reasoning, and vision impairment would also be helpful.
