The University of Alberta is seeking candidates to fill 2 tenure track
positions that have been made available through retirements. The
Department has a fully-accredited residency training programme that trains
2 residents in each of 4 core years.
Glaucoma:
Research in the Department has focused on Eye Genetics, particularly
glaucoma. A very active research group needs the collaboration of a
fellowship trained glaucoma specialist. Only one other glaucoma sepcialist
provides care. We serve an urban population of 850,000 and a large
referral area of greater than 1.5 million. There are 23 ophthalmologists
in the city, most affiliated with a regional Eye Centre at the Royal
Alexandra Hospital.
Pediatric Ophthalmology:
We are seeking an additional pediatric ophthalmologist to serve a young
population. This is a top priority from a regional perspective.
