Department of Psychology
The University of Essex is among the top 12 research institutions in the
UK. The Department of Psychology, which was established in 1992, has
rapidly gained a reputation for excellence in research. In the 1996
Research Assessment Exercise, after only 4 years, it was assessed as '4' -
an outstanding achievement, and indicative of the international recognition
of research success within the Department.
Professors/Readers/Senior Lecturers/Lecturers
Applications are invited for 4 academic posts tenable from Easter 2000 or
as soon as possible thereafter.
Candidates at a senior level should have an excellent record in research,
whilst those at Lectureship level should have a proven publication record.
Applications are invited from candidates in any field but are particularly
welcome from candidates in the fields of social/health, sensory psychology,
cognition/neuropsychology and developmental psychology.
The salary for posts at Professorial level will not be less than £35,330
per annum. The salary for posts at Senior Lecturer/Reader level will be on
the scale of £30,496 - £34,464 per annum, for Lecturers at Grade B £22,726
- £29,048 per annum or Grade A £16,655 - £21,815 per annum. All salaries
are under review.
