As part of the project ‚Basic mechanisms in Colour vision: a
multidisciplinary approach' a

PhD position for minimally two years

is available at the laboratory for ‚Retinal Physiology' at the Dept. of
Experimental Ophthalmology of the University of Tübingen Eye Hospital.
The work will involve single cell recordings in the lateral geniculate
nucleus of marmosets and electroretinographical recordings in marmosets
and human subjects. The theme of the work will be the interaction
between photoreceptor signals and the significance for color vision. The
successful candidate has a background in neurophysiology and is highly
motivated in working in a team but with own responsibilities. Salary is
according to German standards (BATIIA/2). Tübingen is a small town in
southern parts of Germany with a large and lively neuroscience
community. Possibly, the PhD work can be incorporated in the newly
founded international graduate school for ‘neural and behavioral
sciences’ at the Tübingen University. For more detailed and informal
inquiries please contact Dr. Jan Kremers (see below).
Applications should include c.v., publication list, a statement
indicating the experience and the names, fax numbers or e-mail addresses
of two referees and should be sent to:
