Postdoctral Scientist in Retinal Physiology
Electrotechnical Laboratory
Position supported by STA (Science Technology Agency) grant is available
starting immediately for up to two years (yearly renewal, until March
2002) in the retina laboratory at the Electrotechnical Laboratory
(http://www.etl.go.jp) in Tsukuba. We study the intra- / extra-cellular
controlling factors in the synaptic mechanisms for regeneration and
function of retinal neural circuitry. Applicants should have a strong
background in electrophysiology, retinal physiology, or neurophysiology
and in some or all of the following techniques: single-cell recording
from the retina, patch clamp recordings, and Ca-imaging with optical
microscope. Experience in computer programming or skill in cell culture
or knowledge in physics is preferable. Annual salary is around
5,300,000 Yen including taxes and insurance for national health and
