RESEARCH ASSOCIATE, DISPLAY EVALUATION
I am seeking a research associate (postdoctoral by default, although
consideration will be given to talented individuals without postgraduate
degrees). The successful candidate will participate in basic and
applied studies of the visual human factors of aerospace displays.
Currently there are two ongoing projects in this area, one involving
a wireless head-mounted display to be used in space, and another involving
"synthetic vision" displays for aircraft cockpits (visual display of
radar and other sensor data). The work will be a combination of basic
and applied research. The successful candidate will join the computational
vision laboratory at NASA Ames Research Center (http://vision.arc.nasa.gov),
located in the heart of Silicon Valley, 40 miles south of San Francisco
and 20 miles north of San Jose.
