    FULL-TIME RESEARCH ASSOCIATE POSITION THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO, DEPARTMENT
    OF RADIOLOGY

    Applications are invited for a full-time research associate for work in 3D 
    medical imaging.

    Research in the laboratory focuses on the computer-aided diagnosis in 
    medical imaging. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in computer science, 
    engineering, or similar discipline, or in medical physics. Technical area 
    of experience should include computer graphics (in particular, volume 
    rendering), image processing, and computer vision. He/She should have a 
    strong skill in C/C++ programming. Medical imaging background is not 
    required but desirable. Strong interests in medical imaging is essential.

    Appointment to the position is renewable every year. Research areas will 
    include the development of a system for the detection of polyps in virtual 
    colonoscopy (CT colonography) and lung nodules in chest radiography. This 
    is an opportunity for a Ph.D. graduate whose goal is to develop an academic
     career in this research area and in medical imaging in general.
