Postdoctoral Research Associates/Fellows in Visual/Cognitive
Neuroscience (Two posts)
Required for a research project on primate visual neurophysiology and
behaviour. The project, funded by the Wellcome Trust, will
investigate the role of visual context and cortico-geniculate
feedback in the lateral geniculate nucleus. The techniques to be
used include multiple microelectrode recording at multiple sites
within primate visual cortex and visual pathway, visual psychophysics
in primate and fMRI in human and primate.
Candidates should have skills in one or more of the following areas:
microelectrode recording, visual neurophysiology, visual
psychophysics, computer programming (C, MatLab), fMRI and signal
processing.
Salary will be within the range 16,775 - 25,213 UK pounds per annum
(Research Associate scale) or 23,256 - 30,967 UK pounds per annum
(Research Fellow scale), depending on qualifications and experience.
Post one will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of 4
years and 9 months. Post two will be offered on a fixed-term
contract for a period of three years in the first instance. Both
posts are available from 1 October 2000 or as soon as possible
thereafter.
