EU-FUNDED MARIE-CURIE FELLOWSHIPS AT LOUM, MURCIA, SPAIN
ADAPTIVE OPTICS FOR THE HUMAN EYE
The Laboratorio de Optica de la Universidad de Murcia (LOUM) in Spain seeks
applicants for up two-year research positions under the European Union (EU)
funded Marie Curie Development Host fellowships program for studies of
Adaptive Optics in the human eye, including wavefront sensing and correction.
LOUM is a well equipped research group with wide experience in Visual
Optics and one of the world leaders in applications of Adaptive Optics in
the eye. The proposed research topic requires a background in optical
engineering and/or computer programming and/or Visual Optics. Being fluent
in Spanish is not necessary. Candidates with experience in astronomical or
industrial Adaptive Optics and willing to apply their expertise to the
field of Visual Optics are specially encourage.
The applicants must be nationals of an EU Member (except Spain) or an
Associated State (Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Rep., Estonia, Hungary, Iceland,
Israel, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Romania,
Slovakia, and Slovenia) or have resided in the EU for at least five years
and at the fellow must be 35 years old or less. Researchers must have a
doctoral degree or at least four years of full-time research experience at
postgraduate level other than doctoral studies.
The net monthly subsistence allowance, this is the net salary received by
fellows, will be 1850 Euros plus 400 Euros of mobility allowance per month.
Social security (including health insurance) will be also covered by the
fellowship.
