POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN MYOPIA RESEARCH
Children's Vision Laboratory, New England College of Optometry, Boston, MA
A position is available starting in January 2001 for a postdoctoral
researcher to participate in projects involving measurement of
accommodation, vergence, refractive error, optical aberrations, and corneal
topography. A pilot study on genetics of myopia is also underway. The
research program is focused on the development of myopia in school-aged
children. The laboratory is part of the Myopia Research Center at the New
England College of Optometry and interacts with a dozen other research labs
at the college, collaborating in seminars and projects.
The position is available for two years, with the possibility of extension.
Salary and benefits are competitive. Preference will be given to applicants
with prior research experience in visual development and/or mechanisms of
myopia. Experience with psychophysical testing, computer programming
(Visual Basic, MATLAB), and/or database management (Microsoft Access) is a
plus.
