THREE FACULTY POSITIONS IN COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGY-- University of
California, Irvine. The Department of Cognitive Sciences at University
of California, Irvine, invites applications for two tenure-track and one
tenure track or tenured position, with potential starting dates of
July 1, 2001. Specific areas of interest are cognitive and perceptual
neuropsychology, neural network theory, learning and memory, cognitive
development, reasoning and decision making, and social cognition.
Candidates should have a strong record of research accomplishment
commensurate with their academic rank and a serious commitment to
undergraduate and graduate teaching. Applicants should submit a
curriculum vitae, copies of two or more relevant publications, three
letters of recommendation, and a letter of interest indicating
applicant's area of primary research interest. (More than one area
listed above may be mentioned, but for processing purposes please
designate one primary area). Materials should be sent to Search
Committee for (Area), Department of Cognitive Sciences, University
of California, Irvine, CA 92697. To ensure consideration, applications
should be received by December 15, 2000. The University of California
is an Equal Opportunity Employer Committed to excellence through diversity.
Note 1. While vision and visual perception are not specifically mentioned,
persons working in areas of vision that contact higher-level perceptual
processes such as attention, decision making, or object recognition, or
that are related to motor control, neural network theory, new mathematical
formulations, or to brain imaging are encouraged to apply. Although the
ad states that applications "should be received by December 15," later
applications will be considered, and probably not all jobs will be filled
this academic year.
Note 2. I am looking for a postdoctoral fellow to work on vision & attention,
using psychophysics and/or brain imaging. Could start work anytime. See ads
