Several postdoctoral and PhD positions in vision are available at the Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany. One project is concerned with the dynamic visual space perception during eye movements and representation of space in the brain . This is an international collaboration with laboratories in Italy and the US, funded for three years by the Human Frontier Science Program. Another project is concerned with the mechanism of high level visual motion perception and the recognition of biological motion. This project is funded for five years by the German Ministry of Science and Technology. For more information see http://www.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/neurobiol/allgemei/e_stellen.htm. For both projects, applications are invited from researchers interested in computational neuroscience, computer vision, visual psychophysics or neurophysiology. Starting date could be immediately or in early 2000. Salary depends on experience level. Applicants are asked to send their CV, a list of publications, and the names of two referees to: Dr. Markus Lappe / Dr. Frank Bremmer Ruhr-University Bochum Dept.Zoology & Neurobiology D-44780 BOCHUM, Germany Tel.: ++49.234.700.4369 FAX: ++49.234.709.4278 email: lappe@neurobiologie.ruhr-uni-bochum.de The Ruhr University Bochum is located in the western part of Germany. There is a large and active visual science community with working groups in several departments including the Dept.of Zoologie and Neurobiologie, the Institute for Neuroinformatics, the Dept. of Physiology, and the Dept. of Psychology. The special research action "NEUROVISION" and the graduate program KOGNET provide a forum for interdisciplinary research in vision within the university.
