UNIVERSITY OF MANCHESTER INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

    Department of Optometry & Neuroscience

    OPTOMETRY/OPTICS LECTURESHIP

Applications are invited for a Lectureship in Optometry. A PhD and
evidence of first-class research potential are essential. Initial
training should be in visual psychophysics, optics, or a compatible

interests in low vision, image processing, optometric pharmacology,
visual development, or corneal physiology. In addition to
maintaining an energetic research programme, the successful applicant
will be expected to teach undergraduate optics, and offer an option
course to final-year students. A start-up package will be available
and initial teaching and administration loads will be kept to a
minimum. Salary will be in the Lecture scale 18,7311 - 30,967 GBP
per annum. Starting date is 1 May 2001, or as soon as possible
thereafter. Closing date for applications is 23 February 2001.
