DIRECTOR OF TEACHING
Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences
The Department is the top rated Optometry Department in Europe
and is the only Optometry Department with an "Excellent" rating in
both teaching and research. With an international reputation and
attracting substantial numbers of high-calibre students from
throughout Britain and world-wide, the Department is becoming
increasingly involved in Continuing Education and Training and
wishes to establish a Professional Development Centre for
Optometry in Wales.
As the Director of Teaching, you will be responsible, under the
overall direction of the Head of Department, for the management,
organisation and administration of all teaching in the Department.
Additionally, you will undertake teaching duties, and must be
research active in one of the Department's 3 research groups.
You should be an Optometrist with experience in undergraduate
teaching. Excellent communication skills are essential as is the
ability to work effectively with all categories of staff, in both formal
and informal settings, within the Department and across the
University at large.
Salary: #32,510 - #36,740 per annum
