Postdoctoral Research Fellowship
FACIAL EXPRESSIONS RECOGNITION
Applications are invited for a 10 months Postdoctoral position, starting
during 2001, and concerned by facial expressions analysis and
recognition.
Our research group is involved in a european project dealing with
Person-to-Machine Interaction tools. The objective of the whole project
is to develop new tools for audio and video analysis and synthesis, in
order to make the person-machine interaction as natural as possible.
The diagnosis group "diagnosis" of our laboratory is composed of
researchers whose interests are:
signal and image processing, pattern recognition, supervised and
unsupervised learning, flexible regression and discrimination,
uncertainty management using belief functions and fuzzy set theory, and
data fusion. Our role in the project concerns facial image analysis. Our
objective is to develop efficient video analysis tools in C/C++, to
extract low level descriptors of the face (global motion of the head as
well as the local motion of feature points of the face) and high level
descriptors which add semantic information (automatic recognition of
expressions and emotions).
Applicants must have a PhD in Computer science, Electrical Engineering,
or other related discipline. Monthly salary is 10500 FF after taxes
(funded by the CNRS).
