****** Postdoctoral Research Fellowship ******
Postdoctoral position available to study mechanisms of visual motion
processing for smooth eye movements in non-human primates.
A two-years Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, funded by the French
Ministere de la Recherche, is available to study the role of early
visual motion
processing in the control of tracking eye movements. Experiments will be
carried
out in the vision/oculomotor lab of Dr. Guillaume S, MASSON
to probe the contribution of several stages along the visual motion
hierarchy in
the initiation of tracking eye movements. Dr. Masson's research examines
the
psychophysics of motion perception in humans and eye movement behavior
in human and non-human primates.
The CNRS campus in Marseille offers full-support for neurophysiological
and eye-movement experiments on behaving monkeys, as well as the
opportunity
to participate in human fMRI and/or oculomotor studies.
Qualifications: Ph.D. A strong background in physiological (single-unit
or
ensemble recording) techniques and computer programming is required.
Annual salary will be an appropriate point of the IR2 scale of the CNRS
(about 130,000 FF / 20,150 euros) plus full benefits. The fellowship is
expected to start in January 2002.
To apply, send hard copies of a brief statement of research interests,
curriculum vitae and two letters of recommendation to :
