Postdoctoral positions in vision at the Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany
Two postdoctoral positions in vision are available in the Computational
and Cognitive Neuroscience group at the Dept. of Zoology and
Neurobiology, Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany.
One project is concerned with the mechanism of high level visual motion
perception, the analysis of optic flow, and the recognition of
biological motion. This project is funded by the German Ministry of
Science and Technology.
Another project is concerned with the dynamic visual space perception
during eye movements. This project is an international collaboration
with laboratories in Italy and the US, funded by the Human Frontier
Science Program.
For both projects, applications are invited from neurobiologists,
psychologists or physicists interested in visual psychophysics or
computational neuroscience. Starting date is flexible. Salary depends on
experience level.
The lab is equipped with video projection and computer-generated
graphics abilities, video-based eye tracking and a 20 sensor body motion
tracker. The Ruhr University Bochum is located in the western part of
Germany. There is a large and active vision community with working
groups in several departments. These include the Dept.of Zoologie and
Neurobiologie, the Institute for Neuroinformatics, the Dept. of
Physiology, and the Dept. of Psychology. The special research action
"NEUROVISION" provides a forum for interdisciplinary research in vision
within the university.
