When a new subject/observer is recruited for experiments in my lab, I'd
like to quickly assess their visual function. Thus I need a set of vision
tests. Administering these tests would be part of our intake procedure and
might last 20-30 minutes. Has anyone put thought into creating a good
sequence of tests? Which tests have proven easy to administer? Has anyone
written software to administer a sequence of "intake" tests automatically,
that they'd be willing to share?
Tests I think I'd like to do:
Color vision
Stereo vision
Perimetry
Rather than refracting, we'll probably just do:
Foveal acuity for near targets (with corrected vision)
Foveal acuity for far targets (with corrected vision)
Phorias (i.e. eye position bias)
I will compile responses and post back to this list, with attributions. If
you know the approximate cost of a commercial test, and contact information
for the manufacturer, that would be helpful but is not necessary.
Thank you!
