The Rutgers Center for Cognitive Science, Visual Attention Laboratory,
announces an immediate opening for a half-time technical Research Assistant.
Duties will include managing all aspects of the laboratory, including
constructing and maintaining equipment, training graduate and undergraduate
students in experimental techniques and in the use of laboratory equipment
and software, arranging for running subjects, summarizing and analyzing
data, and preparing research reports. Candidates should have a degree in
Psychology and have experience in carrying out laboratory research, as well
as experience in the use of such computer software as Windows, MAC OS, Unix,
C+, Powerpoint, Excel, and SPSS and some experiment-running software, such
as VisionShell. Experience in organizing a laboratory, working with
computers, and teaching the use of software packages would be an asset.
The position is one year, non-tenure track faculty position (September 1,
2001- August 31, 2002) with a possibility of renewal at a salary level up to
$23,650.
