Research Fellow
Department of Psychology
University College London
Applications are invited for a Research Fellowship to work on an
existing EPSRC funded project on the perception of facial movement. The
study utilises modern motion capture techniques that allow actors to
drive the movement of a computer-generated head, rendered using standard
computer graphics techniques. This allows us to study perception of
facial identity defined by movement and gesture independent of spatial
cues. The research assistant will be expected to assist with all stages
of the research, including stimulus generation, experimental data
collection and analysis and publication. There may also be opportunities
to gain experience in teaching and lecturing in Psychology.
The candidate should have at least an 2.1 degree in Psychology,
Cognitive Science or a numerate discipline. Postgraduate experience in a
relevant field would be an advantage. The candidate will join an
interdisciplinary group investigating visual perception through
experimentation and modelling. The post is available for one year from
the 1st November. Salary will be in the range
GB Pounds 17451-23141 + 2134 London Allowance
depending upon qualifications and experience.
Applications should be sent to Prof. Alan Johnston, Department of
Psychology, UCL, Gower Street, London WC1E 6BT
(http://spectrum.psychol.ucl.ac.uk/alan/alan.html; a.johnston@ucl.ac.uk)
