    Division of Cell Biology

Following several major grant awards from the The Wellcome Trust, MRC and
BBSRC, the Division of Cell Biology now seeks to recruit highly motivated
postdoctoral researchers and technical staff in the areas of endothelial
and epithelial cell biology, wound healing and membrane trafficking. The
Division of Cell Biology occupies superb new laboratories equipped with a
stunning range of facilities, with broad interests in fundamental aspects
of cell biology and an emphasis on imaging living cells.

Postdoctoral Research Fellow: Electrophysiologist - Quote Ref 127004

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research fellow position,
funded by The Wellcome Trust, and based in the Endothelial & Epithelial
Cell Biology Research Unit of the Division. The post-holder will
investigate the application of retinal pigment epithelial cell
transplantation for retinal repair. This ongoing collaborative research
project involves assessing visual function following transplantation
strategies using behavioural, electrophysiological and optical imaging
techniques and developing new strategies for evaluating plasticity and
functional change in the visual system. Applicants should have a relevant
higher degree and strong background in electrophysiology, behavioural
experimentation or visual neuroscience. A sound knowledge of experimental
design and statistical methods is expected. Prior experience with brain
imaging or neurophysiology would be advantageous.

Informal enquiries may be made to Professor John Greenwood
(j.greenwood@ucl.ac.uk) or Dr Peter Adamson (padamson@hgmp.mrc.ac.uk).

Salaries will normally be on the RA1A salary scale in the range £20,267 -
£26,229 plus £2,134 London Allowance per annum, as at the 1 September pay
award, according to age/qualifications/experience. Appointment at RAII
level may be considered for exceptional candidates, subject to the
    appropriate funding body's approval.
